Stamp-Off Friday Sketch Challenge
Welcome to another Friday Challenge with Buffy, Susan, & Jackie! This week we have a sketch challenge for you – and it’s a fun one!
Here’s my take on the sketch.
I’m loving the flamingo and leaves from the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog stamp set Pop of Paradise! Melon Mambo and Emerald Envy are perfect together. And adding that little bit of Basic Black just makes the other colors pop, I think.
I added some Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper and Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape to the left of the card. I’m not sure about the leaf placement. The smaller one on the left takes the place of the star, but the large leaf kind of makes the flamingo look like a Vegas show girl. Maybe I should have played that up more!
I was positive that the Thank You banner had a coordinating die, but if it does, I don’t have it. Happily, I really enjoy fussy cutting, so I cut it out with my handy dandy Paper Snips.
The Pink Pirouette scalloped circle is one of the Layering Circle Framelits. There are so many dies in that set! It’s super easy to layer circles and scallop circles. Or circles and circles. Or scallops and scallops. Or – you get the idea, right? You need this set of framelits. Trust me on this one. I think the circles and ovals are staples for any stamper.
For a final touch, I added some Emerald Envy enamel shapes along the bottom right edge. Don’t they look great on the Basic Black Cardstock?
Now – check out what Susan and Jackie did! I know both of them created something amazing. They’re two of my favorite designers! We all have a different style, and it’s fun to see how differently we interpret challenges!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a beautiful day!
