My Crazy Life

I didn’t blog on Wednesday, because…well, I just didn’t get time. My son Wes is back on night shift, so I have Miss Amelia five days a week. At least two days a week, it’s a short day, because when Wesley is off, he picks her up when he wakes up around 2. Still, it’s hard to get a lot of crafting done, because the girl adores my craft room. We went in the other day and she grabbed so many accessories and tools to put in her toy box. I had to laugh, because it looked like she was in a game show: “How many things can you grab in a minute?” I’m not sure I’ll ever get my crimper back. Then she found my latest Paper Pumpkin kit. When I left for a meeting, she was sticking the photopolymer stamps to the windows on the back door. It was so adorable, and I was so proud of her for figuring out how to peel them off the backing and stick them to a non-porous object. (Side note – as of yesterday, I had found all but two! Yeah – by the time I got home, they weren’t on the door any more. Some were in her toy kitchen; some were in the toy box; some were on the TV. Some were stuck to her. And the last two? I have no idea.)

I absolutely adore that little girl; everything else in my life pales in comparison. I left last Wednesday for OnStage 2016. It was amazing, but I had to leave a day early to get home in time for a concert Saturday night. I took the red eye (and there’s a very good reason they call it that! My eyes are still red.) Friday night/Saturday morning and got home around 11:30 Saturday morning. The weekend was crazy with church services and concerts, so I didn’t see Amelia until Monday morning. And – WOW! She had grown up so much in a week. She met me at the door in her fairy wings.

Amelia - Fairy Princess 2

You have to look closely to see the wings, but there’s my little fairy princess, overseeing her dandelion crop. She’s really afraid of bees and she doesn’t like bugs, but she does want to help them – so she does her part to ensure a good crop of dandelions. She’s getting ready to spread some seeds in this photo.

Between my meetings and Amelia’s doctor’s appointments (she had her 19-month checkup Tuesday), I haven’t had much time to even eat, much less craft. But I have gotten a few things done. The Wacky Watercooler gang is hopping starting tonight (so I’ll have two blogs today; does that make up for Wednesday?) and I had to do a quick project for our sketch challenge on Friday. However – I do have a cute card for you today!!

Badges & Banners, Stampin' Up!, Bonnie Farley

I can’t take credit for this one. I swapped with Bonnie Farley from Stampin’ Up! at OnStage Live 2016. You may recognize the Designer Series Paper Stack she used on the card, but the “Enjoy your Day” stamp is from the “Badges & Banners” stamp set. It’s a brand new set in the 2016-17 Annual Catalog. And, of course, there’s a new punch to match. And take a look at that ribbon, The ink for the stamp and the ribbon color is one of the new 2016-18 In Colors – Dapper Denim. (Love it! But I’m going to slip and call it Diaper Denim, I know.) And the ruched ribbon is available in all five new In Colors. It reminds me of the days when we had to heat ribbon with the Heat Tool to get that look. This is so much easier!

So there’s a little sneak peek for you. Be sure to check back in after 9 p.m. for the hop! We’ll be CASEing other designers and showcasing retiring In Colors. You don’t want to miss this!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

What a beautiful picture of Amelia! She sounds like so much fun. Window cling photopolymer, huh?!

Your reports of Amelia’s antics really bring me joy—how could anyone not adore her! Having no
grandchildren of my own, I truly rejoice in sharing the experiences of others . These are precious times, and fleeting, and I’m so glad you appreciate them. She is a lucky little girl to have you.
