What’s Better Than Free?*

Free stamps, free paper, free metallic tape…lots on this card was free!.

*This is the edited post. I ordered several stamp sets at the same time, and I didn’t use the one I thought I did. Thanks, Susan, for keeping me straight!

Flowering Fields, Wildflower Fields, Stampin' Up!, Sale-a-bration

My layout from this card is copied from one of the cards we made at Christy’s “Project Life Greeting Cards” class. I cut a piece of the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (FREE during Sale-a-bration) for the background paper. The floral design and the striped design are the same sheet, just opposite sides.

The strip of gold Metallic Tape is also free during Sale-a-bration. It’s a new product that was added February 16 – and it’s so fun and easy to use. It adds a nice splash of glitz to the card, I think.

The stamp set – Wild about Flowers – is from the Annual Catalog. I stamped the base in Mossy Meadow and the flowers in Blackberry Bliss. I’m going to miss those colors so much when they retire in June. If we have another “color renovation,” I hope those two come back as replacements for colors that could retire. Mossy Meadow is such a rich green, and how can anyone not love something called Blackberry Bliss? It just sounds like a decadently rich ice cream.

Wild about Flowers is a two step set, and it has the little tabs that help you line up the different steps. Theoretically, the tabs aren’t supposed to catch the ink, but sometimes they do if you’re not careful. And, because I was rushing to get this card finished, I wasn’t careful. So – sequins to the rescue. These are some of the sequins from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit in the Occasions Catalog. I love all the vintage kits we’ve had over the years, but this is my absolute favorite so far!

For a little fun, I added some Wink of Stella and Gold Wink of Stella (also from the Occasions catalog) to the flowers. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set in the Annual Catalog. This is my “go to” set when I need a quick sentiment for the front of a card.

Hope you’re having a lovely week. It’s been rainy here, and today was chillier than I had expected. Of course, since it was wet, it felt colder than it was. So I had to make some soup for dinner. Is there anything better than a good homemade vegetable soup on a rainy day?

By the way – if you’re wondering about Amelia after my post on Monday – she’s going to be fine. The doctor thinks her rash is a viral thing. “Viral” always is a little worrisome to me. It can mean so many different things. But she prescribed some over-the-counter drugs for her, and she seems to be better. She’s as happy as ever – and singing and dancing like always. I sang the ABC song to her yesterday, and she mimicked the last part when I finished. She so brilliant! And it’s not just because I’m a doting grandma. (Ok, maybe it is.)

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a beautiful day!
