Triple CASE

Sometimes you just get so much inspiration when you’re designing a project, you don’t know who to give credit to. That’s the case (ha ha – CASE*, get it??) with my card today.

Honeycomb Happiness, Stampin' Up!

First, I CASEd my dear friend Susan. She designed a card with this chick and balloon (from the FREE Sale-a-bration Honeycomb Happiness set) using the same technique. Stamp the bird and balloon on the card, then stamp again on Crushed Curry and Pool Party card stock. Cut out the balloon (just the balloon, no strings) and the top of the chick (not his little scrubby hair or feet. Or talons. Or whatever chick feet are called), then glue the over the stamped image on the card. They’re both really easy to cut out, and if it’s not perfect, who cares? You’ll never know, because it’s also stamped on the card. I colored the bow on the balloon and the chick’s feet and beak with Stampin’ Write Markers.

This design was also CASEd from the Sale-a-bration brochure. If you look at page 10 of the brochure, you’ll see I kept the colors and designer series paper the same.

The third CASE was from my amazing friend Christy. Her card had the grass (created with Fringe Scissors) and flowers. I loved that little touch. The Washi Tape is my own idea. (Woot to me, right? I added a strip of Washi Tape!!) Christy also “paper pieced” her chick with designer series paper. CUTE!

I almost made this a fourth CASE, copying yet another awesome friend, Jackie. Jackie used the “Oh, Hello!” greeting, but she left off the final “o,” because sometimes you just have one of those days.

The stamps in the Honeycomb Happiness set coordinate with the Honeycomb Embellishments in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog. They’re so cute. You get four each of three different colors – Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, and white. BUT – you can spritz the white ones and get any color you want. Fun!!

I think this little chick is adorable. He looks happy enough, but look at those eyes! He just might have a little attitude, so be careful. He kind of reminds me of my granddaughter Amelia. She is a sweetheart. But she knows what she wants, and she’ll go after it. Since she’s just a little under 18 months-old, you can’t really reason with her. But you can distract her. Sometimes. Usually I can stay on top of things, but last night, we had an impromptu sleep-over. She decided to have a mini party at 4 a.m. Grandma isn’t at her sharpest at 4 a.m. Grandma isn’t at her sharpest at 8 a.m., but she pretends. So, due to sleep deprivation, Miss Amelia got her way a lot today. That’s one of the wonderful benefits of being a grandparent. You don’t have to be sharp. You can give in more often. “You want ice cream for breakfast? Ok. What flavor and how many scoops?”

Ok – so Amelia didn’t get ice cream for breakfast. She had a salmon, onion, and egg omelet. But she did watch Mickey Mouse Club two times. On the other hand, we read several books (four, at least) and we danced and sang and snuggled a lot. AND she got a nice nap until the UPS man caused the dog to go crazy, which woke her up.

I’m not sure where I was going with all that, except maybe – I need to head to bed, because tomorrow will be another really early day! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful and happy day!

Your card is much cuter than mine! Sometime we need to talk about adjectives! 🙂
