I Love You!

For my project today, I CASEd another Sale-a-bration card sketch.  You can see the original on page 10 of the Sale-a-bration brochure. Here’s my take on it –

Stampin' Up!, Project Life Memories in the Making, PLXSU

Don’t you love this layout? I used the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper for the diagonal layer, and I colored the flowers with a Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker for a little extra pizzazz. I’m going to use Blushing Bride every day until I convince my friend Susan that it’s a perfect pink.

The “main” layer is stamped hearts from the Project Life Memories in the Making stamp set in Blushing Bride and Rose Red. Easy! I wrAmelia in gogglesapped some linen thread around the diagonal layer, then added some Blushing Bride sequin trim for a little bling.  The banner is another stamp from the Project Life Memories in the Making set.

This will probably be my Valentine for Mike, but it could also be for my beautiful granddaughter Amelia. I’m going to gush for a few minutes, so feel free to leave if you don’t want to hear a grandma talk about her brilliant and beautiful granddaughter.

This is a photo of the girly girl. She wants to wear glasses to look like Grandma and Granddaddy, but readers aren’t good for a little girl. She also has a pair of swim goggles that she loves, so she’s ok with them as a substitute for real glasses.  She is so amazing. I know every grandma thinks her grands are brilliant and amazing, but, seriously – I’m not being biased when I say mine is the most brilliant and amazing.

Today, she had several opportunities for naps, but she declined. There were reasons – a messy diaper, the cat entering the room and distracting her. I mean, seriously, I’d have a hard time taking a nap with those circumstances, wouldn’t you? But she started looking so sleepy, so I said, “Amelia, do you want to take a nap?” She immediately picked up her dog and bear and started walking to her bedroom/exercise room. She walked up to the pack & play, and tossed in her dog and bear and the blanket hanging on the side. Then she looked at me like, “Well?? Are you going to lift me in??” She went right to sleep with no fuss at all. I mean, seriously, how many adults know when they really need to stop and take a nap?

Later, when she woke up, she was playing with her kitchen set. She put one of the cat toys in a cup and stirred it with her play spoon. Then she blew on it to cool it down and took a “taste” of the cat toy soup. “Num, num, num!” she said. Seriously? Do many less than 18 month old babies do that? She knows how to play with her kitchen set! Of course, we cook together often; she loves to help in the kitchen. Her help is mostly tasting, but one day, she’ll be putting flavor profiles together and I’ll be totally wowed!

Thanks for indulging this proud grandma today! And thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Nice definitely-not-vintage card — and a delightful narrative of OUR Great Granddaughter’s latest antics!!! We always love hearing about her!!!!

  2. Susan Horr says:

I might have to unfriend you or unfollow or whatever you if you keep using Blushing Bride! I love Amelia stories!

  3. Jackie says:

I love the card and the fact that you are making such great use of page 10! The Blushing Bride focus is really funny. Amelia sounds like such a total delight, and very brilliant. Love the goggles and her wisdom in knowing when to pack it in and take a nap. We all would benefit from that wisdom.

What a cute card. Love the Blushing Bride and Rose Red together. I don’t have the PL set and I think I’m going to have to get it now.
