It’s Tuesday, and that means Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals! Take a peek –
Bear hugs framelits dies! This is a new set of dies from the Occasions catalog. They coordinate with the Bear Hugs stamp set, and can be used for so many things. Remember the “Colorforms” I made using the Snow Place set? You could do this with the Bear Hugs as well. How fun!
Yapha Mason’s January project for Craft Project Central uses the Bear Hugs bundle as well. Take a look at the sneak peek of her Bear Hugs set here. You can subscribe to CPC for only $10/month (discounted subscriptions are also available). You’ll get 10 project tutorials – and each tutorial has instructions for at least two projects. It’s a pretty amazing deal. Enter a card for the Creating Pretty Cards sketch challenge and leave comments on designers’ projects for chances to win free subscriptions!
Back to the weekly deals – I love the crochet trim. It’s the perfect accessory for vintage projects. The cotton ribbon is beautiful – and so easy to work with. And doesn’t that Island Indigo make you want to be somewhere in the tropics? Where the only thing white on the ground is clean sand?
True confession: The first snowfall is magical for me. But after it stops and the “clean-up” begins, it’s a pain in the neck. If only everyone could just hibernate until it melts. But, no…kids (and pets) want to be fed, so you have to go to the grocery store. Employers want you to go to work. Kids have to eventually go back to school. So you spend an extra 30 minutes piling on coats and boots and gloves and scarves. Then you waddle to the car, because you can’t move in all that extra gear – so that takes an extra few minutes. Plus you have to be extra careful so you don’t fall off the skinny path that’s been cleared and slip into the piles of driveway snow that’s been shoveled into the yard. *sigh* Driving takes longer, because most people around here cannot drive in bad weather. (Honestly, two days before the snow, they were driving like we already had a foot on the ground. The road was completely dry. So you can imagine what it’s like now.) And then, once you get home and fit the car into that tight squeeze between the piles of snow, slip out of the 6″ opening (which is as far as you can get the door open), waddle back inside, and peel off all the extra layers of coats, boots, gloves, and scarves, you’re too exhausted to do anything except collapse in a heap on the bed. But I digress…
The clothespins are so fun, because you can color them with ink, emboss them, glitter them…There are so many possibilities! And they make great banner ends if you want to create a Bear Hug banner!
Finally – the Zig Zag Textured Impressions Embossing Folder adds just that extra special something to any layer. And you can emboss lots of stuff – ribbon, paper, metal. I love embossing pieces of soda cans.
