Here’s what I’m seeing out my back door.
And here’s out the back window.
These were both taken earlier today, when we only had about 2′ of snow. It’s closer to 3′ now – and we have another eight hours to go. It was fun for awhile. But – hey, I don’t have to go anywhere, I have lots of stamping supplies, and we have plenty of food. So – bring it, Mother Nature. Mike & Jon have been keeping paths shoveled for the dog, and I think Jon found our cars, although we have no plans to drive. I get so frustrated with people who think they have to get out of their houses, and they crash their cars – putting others (rescue workers and other people who need to be on the road) in danger. I am not one of those people.
This is what I’m looking forward to seeing out my back window.
One spring, I planted lots of bushes and flowers. It was lovely, until Mike mowed. He’s not really good at missing flowers with the lawn mower. Ok – to be fair, I weed whacked several of the bushes. That little weedwhacker line just kind of got out of control.
I used the Botanical Blooms stamp set and Botanical Builder Framelits Dies that I borrowed from Sandy. I don’t have the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper (DSP) yet, so I used some paper from the Pretty Petals DSP Stack. I love the Calypso Coral flowers on the Basic Black background. I die-cut the edge of the DSP, the added a few die-cut flowers in Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride. Since I needed a little contrast between the paper and flowers, I added a sponged Tea Lace Paper Doily behind the larger Calypso Coral flower and the Old Olive leaves.
The very simple banner was hand cut. I used the Cottage Greetings set for the sentiment. It just seemed to fit the whimsical tone of the flowers. And the little pearls are a perfect finish, I think.
I’ve had a very productive day! Some of my friends and I are playing with different sketches – so stay tuned for that. I also created a “Quick & Simple” card – all by myself. (*patting myself on the back*) I CASEd a card from the Sale-a-bration brochure, so I guess it wasn’t totally by myself. Still, I’m proud of it!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! Have a beautiful and sunny day!

Wow – that is a LOT of snow!! Reminds me of my childhood days back in Ontario; 3 feet of snow was an every winter occurrence! I love the Botanical Bloom flowers done in the Calypso Coral, Buffy – very striking. Enjoy your time indoors – stay warm & safe, my friend! 🙂

Thanks, Deborah! It’s a lot all at once, especially for us “Southerners!” Could be worse, though. It could be blowing – oh, wait…here comes the wind. See you in April!

OH Buffy!! That snow is really crazy in person. Great to look at from the house, but as you say, not something you want to go out in.
This card is stunning!!!! The DSP works so well with those flowers. Just delightful.

Thanks, Jackie. Yeah – when I looked out the door today, I was like, “whoa!” Glad I don’t have to go out! And I was really happy with how well the pretty petals went with the new set. Fun!
