I love Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration! It’s that time of the year when everyone can get free products. And this year’s stamps, papers, and accessories are amazing.
I love how Stampin’ Up! products work together. This card uses the Botanicals for You Sale-a-bration set with Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog products. I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink on Very Vanilla card stock. Then I added some Melon Mambo and Old Olive flowers and leaves. I used the Banners Framelits Dies to die cut the Very Vanilla panel.
I wanted a fun designer series paper (dsp) to pair with this, and the Farmer’s Market from the annual catalog was perfect. The plaid Blackberry Bliss design works really well with the Melon Mambo card.
I needed some ribbon to jazz it up a bit, and when I looked at my ribbon stash, I found some Melon Mambo 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. It’s beautiful – and it looked great with the Blackberry Bliss pattern on the dsp.
One of these days, I’m going to buy the Banner Triple Punch. It’s a really quick and easy way to create perfect banners. In the meantime, though, I have a simple way to create banners of any size. Here’s what I did for the “…on your special day” banner. After I stamped, I trimmed it to the rectangular size I wanted. Then I snipped in about 1/4″ in the center of the right edge. To create the “fish tail” banner, simply cut from the edges toward the top of the little 1/4″ snip. Done!
It’s not as perfect as the punch. If you look really closely at my banner, you’ll see that it’s a little off center. But, you know what? No one is going to throw this card back at me because it’s not perfect. Little imperfections are what make handmade projects so charming, don’t you think?
Here’s the good news. If you purchase the Banners Framelits Dies, the Designer Series Paper, and the Melon Mambo ribbon, your order is really close to earning a free Sale-a-bration product. Throw in a pack of card stock or an ink pad and you’ve got a free product coming your way. Woot! So place your order now to get your free products asap.
