Mike & I love to run away to our mountain hideaway on holidays. We haven’t had a chance to visit since our anniversary, and we were both missing the peace and quiet. Not that our home is noisy; it’s also very quiet – except when the dog and cat decide to spat. But when you’re home, you feel like you should be doing something – cleaning, fixing things, painting – all things that need to be done. Here, though, we can be as lazy as we want.
I almost always bring Stampin’ Up! supplies with me, but now that we have a cat and we use the car instead of my tank Expedition, there’s limited space. It’s become a challenge to see what I can create with very limited supplies. This time, I brought a few stamp sets, my Many Marvelous Markers, five stamp pads, three punches, and some paper. My Big Shot stayed home, and, let me tell you, it was very difficult to say goodbye. Almost everything I make has a die-cut or is embossed.
I decided to use the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack – new in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog. You can order this on January 5. It’s beautiful paper, and the colors are gorgeous – Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Rose Red, and Garden Green. Some of the other new products I used are Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and the “What I Love” Sale-a-bration set.
I was really happy with the end result. I layered two of the paper designs with some Rose Red card stock on a Blushing Bride card, and stamped the “What I Love” flowers on Whisper White with Basic Black Archival Ink and Rose Red Classic. I fussy cut the flowers – which I really do enjoy. I know – weird. But I find it soothing.
All that was left was the sentiment (also in What I Love), and a little embellishment – more Blushing Bride, this time in sequins, and a little linen thread.
I’m not ready to go bare bones in all my stamping, but this is a perfect example that you can create a lovely project with fewer products. And the good news – if you purchase the Word Window and Washi Label punches, the Glimmer Paper, Designer Series Paper Stack, and sequins, your total is $52 US – and you’ll be able to select the What I Love set (or another Sale-a-bration product) FREE beginning January 5. The linen thread is another great add-on.
Hope your new year is off to a wonderful start! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.

What a great idea, use limited supplies! However, I don’t plan to “clean out” my stamp room any time soon! Ha! This is really very pretty, and could even be a Valentine or Mother’s Day card. Love it. Hope you had a great time in the mountains. You know how I feel about the mountains.

Thanks, Sandy! We had fun, but it’s nice to have my whole craft room again!
