It was very tempting to make an ornament or to use the snow globe set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog for this sketch. But I wanted to use some of my sneak peek preorder products from the Occasions catalog. Hmm….Give you a reason to order from the Holiday catalog, or selfishly indulge myself by playing with new
toys tools? My selfish side won over my “business” side this time. I opted to use the Rose Garden Thinlits with the new Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack and Blushing Bride Glimmer paper.
I love, love, love Blushing Bride. It’s a nice vintage pink – and Rose Red is red without being, well, red. So I opted for those colors, as well as the Tip Top Taupe sheet from the Color Me Irresistible specialty designer series paper. Color Me Irresistible is the most fun paper. There are 12 sheets in the pack. Six are already colored for you in the 2015-17 In Colors and Basic Black. The other six are ready for you to sponge, spritz, or watercolor. I opted to use an already colored piece, because I wanted Tip Top Taupe.
I was going to stamp the rose from the Rose Wonder stamp set, but it was a little larger than the space available. No problem; the die-cut was the perfect size! But it looked really plain on the Blushing Bride card stock (which is the base for the card). I decided to pull out a piece of the Love Blossoms paper for the background, and I think it worked really well.
I didn’t want to take a chance of messing up a stamped sentiment, so I die-cut “thanks” out of the Tip Top Taupe specialty dsp using the Greeting Thinlits, then backed it with Rose Red card stock. The rest was all layering – and I didn’t even realize until just this minute that this is another “no stamping” card.
Give the CPC challenge a try! For every 10 cards entered, one is chosen to receive a free one-month subscription to Craft Project Central. Designers enter, but we can’t win – so you have a really good chance (especially if you enter more than one card!). And have you seen the projects for December? They’re amazing! Who wouldn’t want the tutorials for these?
Remember – the Occasions catalog products can be ordered beginning January 5, 2016. Annual Catalog products can be ordered now.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
