Quick & Easy Thank You Card

I haven’t had a lot of stamping time lately, so I decided last night I was going to create a card – no matter what! I hate it when I have to schedule time to play, don’t you?

I wanted to use some of the gorgeous Into the Woods Designer Series Paper for my card. It’s hand painted, and just lovely. It’s with the fall products in the Holiday Catalog, but you can use it all year. Which is a good thing, because in normal “Buffy Fashion,” I’ve hoarded it all season.  I thought the leaves and berries on the design would pair well with the An Open Heart set.

An Open Heart, Stampin' Up!

I simply stamped the branch in Early Espresso, then colored with Stampin’ Write Markers and die-cut with one of the Oval Framelits. The bird is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink, colored, and cut out. I perched him (her?) on the branch with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I also looped some Gold Metallic Thread behind the oval. I think it would have looked better to have the oval on Stampin’ Dimensionals as well.

And, of course, after everything was glued down and I had taken the photo, I kept thinking, “Something’s off.” Um, yeah. The paper is upside down. *sigh* Things get topsy-turvy in the fall, right? I mean, with the wind blowing the leaves all around, some of the acorns are bound to fly around as well, right? If I decide to turn the oval upside down, I’ll stick it on dimensionals this time.

I’m not sure who this card will go to, but I know who won’t get it. My UPS driver. *Huffy Sigh* I’m so perturbed with him right now. I need to have an errand to run or something when he comes by tomorrow so I won’t glare or scowl at him. I 2-day expedited my preorder from the Occasions catalog so it would be here today. I got a notice this morning that even thought it’s at the hub in Front Royal, it’s coming tomorrow. TOMORROW. It may be only a day away, but it might as well be an eternity. I think the driver forgot to put it on the truck. I’m very upset with him. Not that I would have had time to play with anything today, but I could have in the morning. Ugh. He’s getting a bag of coal this Christmas, I can tell you that.

Since that’s the worst thing that happened today, this has been a very good day. Hope yours is as well. Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy!
