Simple Birthday

I’m taking a break from fall and winter cards today. This card was inspired by the Craft Project Central “Creating Pretty Cards” sketch challenge this week.  Here’s the sketch, designed by Monika.

CPC53

This one threw me for a minute, because I don’t have many skinny horizontal sets, and the ones I thought about had already been used (which is totally ok, but I wanted to do something different).

Here’s my card.

CPC53, Craft Project Central, Stampin' Up!, Happy Birthday Everyone

I tried to stay really close to the sketch. I used the hostess set, Happy Birthday, Everyone. It has so many different phrases that you can put together or use separately.

I love the Farmer’s Market designer series paper, so I used that for the background. It was easy to squeeze the “to you” inside one of the boards. I added some Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape to the sides and a few sequins to break up the empty space.

I like the Sahara Sand/Basic Black combination. It looks very classic to me.

Give the challenge a try! There’s a new sketch every month, and for every ten cards submitted, one is picked as the winner of a free month subscription on Craft Project Central. The winner(s) will get to select the month of their choice. Designers’ cards count in the total, but aren’t entered into the drawing. So if there are 15 cards, and 10 are from designers, you have a 1 in 5 chance of winning. If there are 30 non-designer entries, three winners will be chosen. So get your mojo going and enter the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
