Festive Fireplace

Festive Fireplace

Here’s a card using the “Festive Fireplace” bundle. I chose this set because of the cat. It reminds me of our Ashlynn. She’s very curious – and into everything. She hasn’t been around our fireplace while it’s burning yet, because she didn’t come to live with us until after fireplace season. I’m curious to see how she’ll do, though. When she lived with Wesley and Steph, she climbed inside their fireplace – although there wasn’t a fire burning, thank goodness. We have glass doors, so they have kept her out of our fireplace so far.

Ashlynn’s favorite place to sleep is the potted plant in the family room. I guess it’s not really her favorite place any more, since the plant is pretty well gone. I kept a pair of plants alive for about 12 years – and I’ve been so proud. But Mike drowned one this year and Ashlynn crushed the other. It’s very sad. But, at least my record for killing plants remains intact.

I used the Stylish Stripes embossing folder for the Soft Suede half of the card. I’m not sure I’m liking how that turned out. It looks like floor, or a misplaced wall. I’m going to play with this a bit and see if I can turn it into something I like better.

Even though there are lots of pieces to this, it was very quick and easy to create. I stamped all the elements on a 1/2 sheet of Very Vanilla card stock, then die cut all the pieces at one time. Easy!

Hope you’re having a lovely weekend! I’m hoping that I can get a lot done on Sunday, because I totally lost today. That’s the story of my life, lately, right?

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

I’m very behind on my blog reading, so I’m just getting to this. I love the embossed paper at the bottom. I immediately thought it looked like a hardwood floor. Maybe if you moved the fireplace up a little or used a little less “floor”, you would like it better. Very nice card.
