This is the third card we’re making at classes this month, and I think it’s my favorite. I used a new set from the Holiday Catalog, Happy Scenes, for the fall scene. Of course there’s a coordinating set of thinlits dies – Heart & Home to cut out the window and a window box. If you purchase the stamps and thinlits together, you save 15% off the retail price.
I used a piece of English Garden Designer Series Paper from the wallpaper, then “painted” the wall with Mint Macaron. Of course, I had to have a chair rail – which is just a strip of Whisper White card stock. I didn’t do anything fancy to it. This is a simple farm house.
I stamped the outdoor scene in Basic Black archival ink, then colored the leaves and pumpkins with Stampin’ Write Markers. I added a tiny bit of Tip Top Taupe and Old Olive for the ground using markers scribbled on clear blocks and an aqua painter. I finished the scene by adding Soft Sky – again with markers and an aqua painter.
If you don’t have the Many Marvelous Markers set, you need it. You’ll have all of our core inks. You can easily use markers to color your stamps, and it’s much easier to transport 38 markers when you’re traveling than it is to carry 38 stamp pads! You also get a very cute carrying case. I’ve had mine for years – through several color renovations – and it’s still sturdy as ever. And there’s room for the 10 In Color markers as well. Simply switch them out as they retire and replace with the new set.
I haven’t added a sentiment to this card yet. It will probably be a birthday card for one of the fall birthdays we have coming up!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

I know! When I saw your post yesterday, I thought, “Susan’s going to think I’m stalking her!” But I didn’t have time to reschedule. I’m still waiting for the bulk of my Holiday order, so my readers are going to see a lot of trees and windows!
