Here’s one of the cards we’ll be making at classes this month. I try to have different styles for the cards, but that doesn’t always happen. This month, though, I think I did pretty well. I have a card that could be a sympathy, get well, or thinking of you – or even a birthday, and another all occasion. And either one could work for men or women.
The card for today uses the floral spray from For the New Two. This is a wedding set that was in the Occasions catalog in the spring and carried over to the 2015-16 Stampin’ Up! annual catalog as well. It’s very simple, and fun.
I stamped the image three times in Versamark, then embossed with silver powder. It was easy to color with Lost Lagoon, Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, and Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write markers. I used the markers directly on the card stock for a more vibrant color. You could also scribble on a clear stamp block with the markers, then pick up the ink with a blender pen for a softer look.
The sentiment is from the stamp set Lovely Amazing You. If you look in the catalog for this set, you won’t find it. It’s one of the monthly photopolymer sets. Many of those have sold out and are retired forever. But this one is still available while supplies last – so order soon! I stamped it in Lost Lagoon to contrast with the card and seam binding ribbon. Of course, you could also use one of the sentiments from For the New Two or another set and make it a card for a wedding, anniversary, birthday or other occasion.
This layout is quite simple; there aren’t any fancy layers to it. When I’m cutting 5 cards each for 8-10 people, I tend to get a little “layer lazy!” I simply mounted the Whisper White layer to a Rich Razzleberry card and tied some Pink Pirouette seam binding ribbon around the card.
Hope to see you soon at one of my classes. If you’re not local but would like the class, I do offer kits by mail. You’ll get all the supplies for each card (except stamps and ink). You can use stamps and ink that you have on hand, or you can order them separately. The class is $15, but if you order stamps, ink and other supplies that total a minimum of $25, your class is free. You only have to pay for your order and shipping. Almost everything will ship in a small Priority Mail flat rate box, so shipping would be approximately $5.75. Contact me if you’re interested!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day
