I seem to be stuck on challenges this week! Here’s one for the Paper Craft Crew challenge this week. The colors work with the Fab Friday challenge as well.
Here’s the PCCCS155 sketch.
And here’s my card –
I wanted to try something different with the fish from By the Tide. I had always just stamped and watercolored him (her?), but this time, I used a technique I learned from Julie Gearinger. I patted the silicone craft sheet with a Lost Lagoon classic stampin’ pad, and spritzed it with water. Then I pressed a piece of watercolor paper onto the sheet. After cleaning the mat, I repeated the process with Mossy Meadow. When it dried, I stamped the fish with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then cut it out with Paper Snips. (Yes, I do love fussy cutting. I’m weird that way.)
The fish still seemed a little lackluster to me, so I used a blender pen with VersaMark (does anyone else really, really miss the VersaMarker?) to add a few highlights, then embossed with gold powder.
The water plant is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on Lost Lagoon card stock, and I used some left over sequins from the Watercolor Wishes card kit for the bubbles. The sentiment is from You’ve Got This, gold embossed on Blackberry Bliss card stock. And the background paper is from the Cherry on Top designer series paper stack stamped with one of the Chalk Lines stamps in Lost Lagoon.
I created one more card for this Paper Craft Crew challenge, but I’ll post it Sunday.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
Oh what a great combination of texture and elements in this card Buffy! I love the By the Tide stamp set, it’s a real eye catcher in this layout. Thanks for joining us at the Paper Craft Crew this week. Crystal
