It’s time for another Wacky Watercooler challenge! This is a fancy fold challenge. Anything goes, as long as it has a different fold. Here are some ideas for you.
And here’s my card.
Blushing Bride is my “go-to” pink, but I used Pink Pirouette on my original card (in the second photo). After looking at it for awhile, I decided to try stamping the label and flowers (from Everything Eleanor) in Blushing Bride. It’s a little softer and prettier. I keep trying to step out of my little box, but I like my box! I like it much better in the Blushing Bride. What do you think? I also changed the sentiment stamp. It’s the same thought, but the “redo” (top photo) is from A Dozen Thoughts. I think it looks a little fresher.
You can see the top 2/3 has a top fold, and the bottom is a gatefold. In the “triple picture” below, you can see it opened. (Pink Pirouette wasn’t the best option for the swirl inside the card for photo purposes, but it looks pretty in real life.)
I colored the flowers in the Timeless Elegance designer series paper with Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, and Pink Pirouette ink and an aqua painter. I used Crushed Curry for the flower centers, then added some Dazzling Details mixed with Crushed Curry ink refill.
This was a lot of fun – and very easy. Cut the Very Vanilla cardstock at 6-1/2″ x 5-1/4″. Score the top fold at 2-1/2″ to create a 4″ x 5-1/4″ card. For the bottom gatefold, cut two pieces of 1-1/2″ x 2-7/8″ card stock and score each piece at 1/4″. Add a little adhesive to the 1/4″ tab, and adhere to the back of the card, lining up the score line with the edge of the card. Repeat for the other side, folding flaps in. Decorate your card and you’re finished! Since it was already a card that opened, I simply adhered the Very Vanilla piece to a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Basic Black card stock to cover the flaps on the back.
I actually stamped six flowers for the front of the card. I cut the centers out of three of them and popped them up on Stampin’ Dimensionals to add a little more interest and dimension.
Now – give this challenge a try! Head over to the challenge home page for instructions and inspiration from the other designers. Then link your project to the challenge page, and link to the challenge from your blog or the forum you’re posting on. If your project is chosen as the favorite, you’ll get a cool badge to add to your blog or web site! Be sure to tag it WCC29 so it can be found in a search later.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
What a beautiful vintage look card Buffy. I like the combination of papers and colouring. You’ve added a lot of details to this card and the triple gatefold is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
