This card is all about fruits and veggies you’ll find at the produce stand – tomatoes, pears, carrots, lettuce, onions, artichokes, peaches – as well as blackberries, tangerines, and olives. It’s been mentioned before how many Stampin’ Up! colors are food names. They say you shouldn’t go grocery shopping when you’re hungry because you buy more. Maybe the “color namers” are hungry when they give names to colors. I think there are more food names than non-food names.
Anyway…this is my entry for the sketch challenge at Craft Project Central. I just got the Farmer’s Market designer series paper, and the colors are so gorgeous, I had to use it for the card. I embossed a layer of Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the Zig Zag embossing folder, added some of the new 2014-16 In Color 5/8″ striped cotton ribbon (in Blackberry Bliss) to the “seam,” then added a die-cut “hello” to an ornate tag punched from more Blackberry Bliss. The whole thing is layered to an Old Olive card base.
Speaking of “no stamping,” Mike & I got home from the mountains late last night. To his chagrin, I took along two bags of stamping supplies and my Big Shot. We were in the car with the cat, so there wasn’t a whole lot of room. I have to brag on my husband. Not only did he not say a word or even roll his eyes when I brought my stamping bags to the car, but he also never mentioned that I didn’t even touch them while we were gone. I made a little stamping space on the dining room table, but spent most of the weekend reading. It was wonderful and very relaxing!
Try your hand at the sketch this month. Post your card to your blog (or a public forum, like splitcoast stampers or even Pinterest), then upload it to the Craft Project Central site. For every 10 cards entered, one will receive a free subscription to CPC. Designers’ cards count in the total, but we can’t win, so your changes are very good especially if you enter more than one card.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
