Once upon a Time…

It’s time for another Watercooler Challenge! This time, it’s an “Inspiration Challenge.” Inspiration Challenges are harder for me, because the rules are so loose. That should make it easier, right? But for those of us who are “rule followers,” it’s definitely a challenge.

Here’s the inspiration photo from my good friend Kath Ricks.

You can interpret this in so many ways.  You can go with the colors or use the idea of water, or birds, water fowl, ducks (is this a duck?) – whatever.  I chose the “duck” idea, and picked up a few of the colors.

Here’s my card.

WCC25, Stampin' Up!, Adventure AwaitsI was thinking about the wonderful Occasions catalog set, Moon Lake, for this one, but it’s not carrying over to the new catalog – so it won’t be available after June 2.  Instead, I stamped three ducks from Something for Baby, and I die-cut them with Baby’s First Framelits.

Before sponging the background, I stamped ducks on a window sheet and transferred it to Whisper White card stock.  Then I sponged the water and sky and added the die-cut duckies with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a sentiment from Adventure Awaits, a lovely set from the Occasions catalog, which, of course, is not carrying over.  So I might as well have used Moon Lake, right?  But the sentiment just seemed to fit the little ducks going out on their own.

The card base is Delightful Dijon, one of the new In Colors, and the next layer is Soft Suede.  I love that combination.

So now – try your hand at the challenge!  Simply create a card, upload it to the Watercooler Challenge site (be sure to follow all the rules!), and your project could be chosen as the fave!  You’ll get a cool badge to put on your blog if your project is chosen.  Check out the other designer’s projects for more inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.  Have a wonderful day!

  2. I really like your interpretation of this inspiration challenge Buffy. It’s fun and “adventurous”. Great choice of stamps and background technique. Thanks for sharing!
