“Chopped” Stamping

Tonight was our local Stampin’ Up! demonstrator meeting. It’s always fun to catch up and get new ideas, and, of course, we have a make & take project. This month, it was a challenge project. Like the TV show Chopped on the Food Network, everyone had a packet of supplies they had to use on their project, but they also had access to a lot of other supplies. I sent out a questionnaire last month, asking everyone what their favorite stamp sets, colors, embellishments, embossing folders and dies were. Fortunately, I had almost everything on the list. I think I was only missing one or two stamp sets. So I packed up all the favorite products, plus a few I thought would be fun for the demos to use for the challenge. The packet of “must use” items contained vellum card stock, Whisper White baker’s twine, gold basic metal buttons from the Holiday catalog, and a tea lace paper doily. (Yeah, it was an easy packet this time.)

I think they enjoyed it. Everyone’s cards were beautiful! They were all totally different.  Chris got points for totally transforming the products. She used glitter and embossing powder to totally change the doily and vellum. Sadly, I didn’t get a photo of hers.

Here are Christy’s and Judy’s cards. Look how totally different they are.

Sprinkles of Life, Stampin' Up!

I love how Christy used the Dots decorative mask for the background.  And notice the new Sprinkles of Life stamp set and Cherry on Top designer paper stack.

Kinda Eclectic, Stampin' Up!Isn’t this beautiful? I love how well the All Abloom designer paper stack coordinates with the Kinda Eclectic stamp set. And the “thanks” stamped in the sun is so clever! Every time I used this designer paper, it kind of fought the other card components, but Judy pulled it together perfectly.

Sandy and Liz are putting their cards on their blogs, so I didn’t want to post them here.  But they did a lovely job as well.

Remember – the 2014-15 Annual Catalog and 2015 Occasions Catalog sales periods are winding down.  On June 2, you can order from the retiring and the new annual catalogs as well as the Occasions.  Any products carrying forward to the new catalog will be the “old” catalog price on June 2. You can order hostess sets from either catalog as well, and your “stamping rewards” (aka “hostess credits”) will be from the retiring catalog.  On June 3, you’ll only be able to order from the 2015-16 catalog. So if you have a big order, it’s better to place it on June 2, because you’ll get more “freebies,” and you’ll save some money.  Just sayin’.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.  Have a wonderful day!

Nice job ladies! Hope I can join you all sometime soon. Buffy, could you post links to the other blogs if they wouldn’t mind? I love seeing everyone’s creativity.
