Monday was my Wesley’s birthday, and, since we were gone all week, I didn’t get a chance to make it until Monday. Wes just started back on night shift, though, so he slept through most of the birthday. By the time he woke up and stopped by the house, it was done!
I used the new Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp Sprinkles of Love and the coordinating punch for this card. There are a couple new In Colors on the card – Crushed Cucumber and Watermelon Wonder. And there’s a little Cherry On Top washi tape that coordinates with the Cherry on Top designer series paper.
I also preordered all of the new In Color ribbon – and I love it. But I didn’t think it would be really appropriate on a card for a man. This needed something, though, so I added a little of my Crushed Curry Dazzling Details (just add ink refill to the Dazzling Details!) on the candle flame, and uncolored Dazzling Details to the cupcake.
There’s always a story behind the birthday cards. When Wes and Stephanie started dating, they used to bake cakes together. It seemed like every day we had a new cake in the house. They got really good at it, too. A little cupcake seemed appropriate this year! (Ok – the real reason is I wanted to use my new stamps, ink, and paper. But the cake story sounds good, right?)
I’m off to pick up the cutest little cupcake. Today is one of my “Amelia Days.” She’s growing so fast, and she’s enjoying exploring the world. Look at that little face! She is always smiling. She is such a happy little girl.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
