Today’s the day!! Mike & I are heading for the beach, so today is going to be crammed with my last minute “to do” list and, of course, packing. I’m taking a small bag of craft supplies with me, because I have a blog hop, a challenge to design for, my monthly date at Spring Arbor, and a Craft Project Central project due either while we’re gone or a few days after we get back. Most of the things I’ll be posting will be current and/or retiring items. BUT – my preorder arrived yesterday, and I had to play just a little. (If you don’t want to see new products, you’d better stop reading now. Remember – the new products won’t be available until June 2.)
This is so outside of my normal style. The colors are really, really bright. But there are quite a few new products here – the Ronald McDonald House Charities set, Sprinkles of Life, and the coordinating punch, “Cherry on Top” designer series paper and washi tape, and new In Colors. This card uses three new In Colors. You’ll be able to order all of these new products June 2, unless you’re a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. We can order selected products now! It’s one of the benefits.
I love buying the RMHC set each year, because for every set purchased, Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to RMHC. We also donate cards and volunteer at various houses, and Stampin’ Up! gives a substantial donation each year as well..
I added a few Bermuda Bay sequins and used the Ovals Collection framelits for the mat under the ice cream cone. I wanted a little more sparkle, but after glittering over 50 cones for the luncheon the past few weeks, I wanted the sparkle to stay on the card, not my basement floor. So I used a little Dazzling Details on the ice cream.
I thought an ice cream cone was fitting for this card, since there’s this really cool ice cream parlor in Daytona that Mike & I visit too frequently. I don’t know if the ice cream is any better than other places or if we just enjoy it more because the temperatures are higher and the ice cream seems colder. They also have a lot of flavors. And we don’t go out for ice cream much when we’re home, so it’s a special vacation treat. Kind of like my Cap’n Crunch cereal. I know there’s probably no nutritional value in a bowl of the Cap’n’s cereal (except for the milk!), but I break down and buy about one box per year. I’m thinking it’s probably better than the 800 calorie muffins we got one time. They looked so good – until we got them home and looked at the label.
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.
