Watercooler Challenge from Heidi

Today is Watercooler Challenge day!  This one is a double challenge using a silhouette and a watercolored background.  Of course, if you’re one of my Canadian friends, it’s a watercoloured background.  (Yeah, I can speak Canadian.)

Here’s Heidi’s inspiration piece.

WCC22, Stampin' Up! And here’s my card.

I challenged myself to use a set I don’t normally thing about – Lovely as a Tree.  It’s been around forever, and I just forget we still have it.  I stamped the image, then embossed it with black powder.  For the background, I spritzed the Shimmery White card stock with water (so the ink would run better), then dripped Classic Ink over it with an aqua painter.

I added the sentiment in a word bubble, because it’s supposed to look like a cloud.  At least, after I added it, I thought it looked like a cloud.  It’s like a piece of music or work of art that you have to interpret in school.  The students have all kinds of great ideas that the composer or artist probably didn’t even think about when he/she was creating it.  It just happened.

You can play along with the challenge by creating a project using the challenge, then uploading it to the Watercooler Challenge blog.  If your card is chosen as a fave, you can add our cool badge to your blog or web site!

I’d better hit the Publish button now.  I just realized this post is horribly late.  (Sorry WCC friends!)

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.  Have a wonderful day!

  2. Buffy I love that you used Lovely as a Tree for your wonderful card. Although that stamp set is an oldie it always comes through looking so good! I’m so happy they didn’t retire it this year…. actually I sighed with relief. I like the soft shadows in your card and I do get the cloud concept. Very ingenious of you to incorporate that. Thanks for sharing Buffy.
