I wanted to make little Easter baskets for the kids last weekend, and what better basket than the Berry Basket Bigz L Die. I cut the basket pieces from Coastal Cabana card stock (I’m really, REALLY, REALLY going to miss this color!), and embossed the sides with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I decided to forgo the handle, because the basket was too heavy to carry with the handle. I could just picture the handle breaking off and candy all over the floor and frustrated kids glaring at me. Instead, I added “grass” by using my fringe scissors on a strip of Crushed Curry card stock.
If I had thought ahead (oh, that would be a first!!), I would have put the raisins in first. But I totally forgot that I had bought them. I filled the basket with chocolate eggs and peanut butter eggs, and then – oops. I have these boxes of yogurt raisins. By then, it was late Saturday night and I had already had to trim the embossing folders so I could send them sideways through the Big Shot, so repacking the baskets wasn’t an option. I don’t think the kids minded, though!
The cool thing about this basket is you really don’t have to do anything special. It’s cute all on its own! And I love that, because “simplify” seems to be the word of the day in my life lately.
Don’t forget you can order all this week and get FREE SHIPPING! This is a great time to stock up on adhesive, card stock and ink – plus all those other Stampin’ Up! products on your wish list! And remember – the 2013-15 In Colors will be retiring in June, so order now. After the retiring list comes out in April, they’ll be “while supplies last,” and you don’t want to miss out.
