Printed Vellum Birthday

Birthday GreetingsI got the idea for this one from my friend Marsha Reed.  This is one of the new Sale-a-bration products, the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack.  You can color on the vellum – either on the back or (if you use watercolor markers) on the front.  You don’t want to use really heavy duty opaque markers on the front, because it will just blur out the image.  So use those on the back!  But lighter Stampin’ Write markers are fine on the front.  That’s how I did the butterflies here.

Because this is vellum, you can also use your stylus and a Stampin’ Pierce Mat (not currently available, but hopefully soon!  Until then, a mouse pad will work ok) to “color” on the back of the vellum.  It turns the area you colored white.  Pretty neat, right?  Of course, you can also use a chalk marker or white gel pen.

I added a birthday greeting from the Wetlands stamp set and punched it with the Large and Scalloped Oval punches.

I cut the vellum a little larger than 5-1/4″ x 4″, and wrapped it around a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Soft Sky card stock.  That way, it was all glued down, but no adhesive showed through the vellum.  Then I layered the whole thing to a Blushing Bride card.  (I love that color!  It’s a great pink for vintage!)

Be sure to take advantage of Sale-a-bration!  With a $50 order, you can get the vellum stack free!  Or you can select one of the other awesome original Sale-a-bration products, excluding the Blendabilities, or one of the new products added just for March.   And don’t forget, you can select a product for every $50 you spend!  It’s my favorite time of the year.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.  Have a wonderful day!

Very pretty, Buffy! I love that vellum. Definitely going to have to case this one!

  2. I love the idea of folding the vellum around another piece of paper so the glue doesn’t show through. Thanks so much for sharing! Have a blessed day.
