This is the birthday card I made for Mom. I used the Lotus Blossom set that you can get FREE during Sale-a-bration! I used Pacific Point for the images, because Mom’s favorite color is blue. (Or, at least, it used to be. I guess it still is. Mom?)
Lotus Blossom is a 3-step stamp. Lots of samples I’ve seen use one color for the first two layers (stamping off for the second) and then a second, lighter color for the third stamp. But Pacific Point doesn’t have a “dynamic duo” pair. It’s dark enough, though, that I used it for all three stamps. I stamped full strength for the first, then stamped off once for the second, and stamped off twice for the third.
If you look closely, you can see there’s a flaw in the final – lightest – stamp. But, of course, Stampin’ Up! has the best customer service ever. They’re sending me a new stamp for the one that’s messed up. I should have waited until the “good” stamp arrived, but I couldn’t. Patience isn’t my thing. But all cards from here on out will be perfect, because the stamp should be here by next week!
The background paper is the Painted Blooms designer series paper. It’s gorgeous! It coordinates with the Painted Petals set (seen here) from the Occasions catalog, but, of course, you can use it with any stamp set.
I needed to add a little more blue, so I added some of the Painted Blooms Cotton Twine in Soft Sky.
Be sure when you place your order that you add your Sale-a-bration choices! And your order can be from the annual catalog, weekly deals, clearance rack, Occasions catalog and online only items (so basically everything!).
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
