Yesterday I picked up Miss Amelia early in the morning. We played for awhile, and then her eyelids started drooping, so I put her down for a nap. Miss Amelia decided ten minutes was long enough for a nap. She was so sweet, though. She played and listened to me practice (and, of course, sang along).
I had to run out to play for a couple of voice juries in the morning, so Mom came over to stay with the baby for an hour or so. Miss Amelia had just gone down for a second nap when Mom came to the door. Ten minutes later, she woke up to play with her Great-grandma.
Later that afternoon, Mike put her down for a nap while I was getting ready for more juries, and again, ten minutes later she was awake. By the time she went home she was exhausted – but she was so sweet all day. She just wanted to party with the old folks, I guess. And she was very, very chatty all day. What a sweetheart. But, really, when you see this face, how can you make her stay in bed?
In case you’re wondering, “juries” are when music students perform the repertoire they’ve been learning all semester for a panel of jurors for part of their grade. My final four were from 8:30 until around 10 Wednesday night, and I had students from the studios of all three jurors. I thought since the jurors had to stay so late, they’d probably be ready for a “pick-me-up” by 9 p.m. (my inner mom kicked in, I think), so I made a quick basket using the “Under the Tree” specialty designer series paper and the Gift Box Punch Board.
It’s not perfect, because I was rushing – but it was so simple and quick, which is a very good thing since my little helper didn’t want a nap! I filled it with chocolate and candy canes – and then added some Gingerbread bars in case someone didn’t like candy.
I love the Under the Tree paper, because it’s cardstock-weight. One side is a color print and the other side is a white printed pattern on Kraft. Be sure to order it now, because the Holiday Catalog sales period ends Jan 5, 2015. And remember, all products are “while supplies last,” so don’t be disappointed by ordering too late!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
