The Perfect Birthday

This was the most perfect day.  It started with breakfast in bed (and the only thing that would have made it more perfect is if my dear Mike could have been here all day!).  I worked in the office for a bit, mostly replying to birthday wishes via e-mail and facebook.  (Shhhhh – don’t tell Mike!)  And then I got to spend hours and hours with this girl.

What’s that? She gets prettier every day? I know! Today was a PJ kind of day. She and her mommy have had so many visitors (I don’t count as a visitor. YAY!), that she decided to take the day off and sleep. And eat. And sleep. Kind of what she does every day, but this time she didn’t have to show off. We read a book together and chatted while her mommy was supposed to be taking a nap.

When I got home, I had more birthday cards!! This one is from Darrah Hopper, my dear friend in California.

I love the colors – and that washi tape flower blew me away.  So cute!!  Thanks, Darrah!!

Soon after I got home, most of the kids came over for dinner.  Rachel had to work, and I miss her so much!  Her schedule is crazy lately.  And, of course, Mike is out of town.  But since I celebrate for several months, we still have lots of time for a few more celebrations when he gets home!

The day ended with two cakes (yes, two!!) that Steph and Wes brought. Every year I say, “This was the best birthday ever!”  Last year was amazing, and I didn’t think we could top it, but we did!  I can’t even imagine what next year will bring.  Maybe a combined 1st and …something…  birthday party for Amelia and Grandma!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy!  Have a wonderful day!
