Ombre Vases

Ombre Vases - Stamping in Winchester, VA, with Buffy Cooper

The “ombre” look is very easy to create with the Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities!  “Ombre” is very “in” right now, in fashion, home decor and crafting.  It’s when color blends from dark to light – as in the vases on my card – or vice versa.  I blended some of them a little more than I had planned, but overall I’m happy.  (Except for the pink haze around that center tulip.  I’m not sure why I had so much bleed with the Melon Mambo blendabilities marker.  Kind of looks like pink pollen.  Next time I’ll emboss first!)

This is the Vivid Vases set from Stampin’ Up.  I used lots of Blendabilities for this one – and specific colors are linked in the table at the end of the blog.  I also used the color lifter, and it helped a little with the bleed.  Remember – you can purchase all 12 sets of blendabilities, as well as the skin tones, color lifter, Tuxedo Black ink and refill on August 1.

The image layer in my card is mounted to Mossy Meadow, and the card is Daffodil Delight.  It was a little plain, so I embossed it with the honeycomb embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.  Have a wonderful day!
