Sweetbriar Rose

Sweetbriar Rose, Stampin' Up!

Sweetbriar Rose is a new single stamp in the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog.  I stamped it on Whisper White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored with Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blendabilities.  The card itself is Mossy Meadow, one of the new 2014-16 In Colors.  You can purchase an assortment of cut & ready card bases in either set of In Colors (2013-15 and 2014-16).  They’re available in selected single colors as well.

I decided the flower centers needed a little dimension, so I added dots of Dazzling Details mixed with Crushed Curry ink refill.  And, of course, I tied a little Pink Pirouette seam binding ribbon bow around the stems.

If you notice, the “Sweetbriar Rose” tag and a little of the bottom leaf are outside the oval die cut.  I used the “Out of the Box” technique for that.  Place your framelit over the image and lightly trace around the inside with a pencil.  Cut the parts that are outside the oval with paper snips.  Then pull those sections out of the framelit before cutting.

Two things to remember this week.  Okay, three.  First, check my web site tomorrow for the new weekly deals!

If you subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin before September 10, your first two kits are 1/2 price!  This is a deal for new subscribers only, so if you have an e-mail already associated with My Paper Pumpkin, you won’t qualify.  Of course, you can create a new e-mail address to take advantage of this opportunity, if you’d like to try Paper Pumpkin one more time!

And you have a few more days to take advantage of the “Buy 3, Get 1 Free” designer series paper promotion.  Paper stacks and specialty paper aren’t included, but there are lots of other choices!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy!  Have a wonderful day.
