My Rachel invited us to an event at Opus Oaks Farm. She’s been working with Gail Bowman-Harlow, the director, to organize a very fun and educational day at the farm.
Opus Oaks, An Art Place, Inc. was founded in 1999 in Berryville, VA. They offer a wide variety of classes year round in their studio on First Street in the town of Berryville. Opus Oaks, an Art Place, Inc. is being developed to provide a foundation for supporting artistic creativity and involvement within the community and to share their art collection with others.
The farm on Crum’s Church Road is where Jon and Rachel were married in October. And it was a magical place for kids today. They had face painting, mural painting, jewelry making, paper marbleizing, spray bottle watercolor, sun quilting, stone carving, blacksmithing, copper forging, pottery making, music and more. There were also lots of local crafts and art for sale.
You’ll definitely want to check out Opus Oaks facebook page and watch for activities this summer. They have classes for adults, teens and children aged 4 and up on fashion history and design, stop-motion animation, copper forging and wood sculpture, jewelry, silk painting, photography, blacksmithing and much, much more. You can even paint a car! So check it out and add some art to your summer.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day.
