Happy Mother’s Day! I’ve had the best time this weekend. My niece has been visiting Mom & Dad for the past two weeks, and Mom was taking her to meet her mom yesterday. I rode along for company and to help drive. It was so nice to spend that time with my mom. The older I get, the more I realize that she’s such an amazing woman. Words can’t even express how much I love and appreciate her – and her wisdom (but don’t tell her that last part!). So – Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! I love you!!
When I got home, Mike gave me flowers and had dinner ready. And today, the girls and I are going to a movie, then meeting the guys for burgers and hot dogs. I have the most wonderful life.
I wanted to make some cards for the girls today, since this is my first Mother’s Day with daughters! I used the same set – Happy Watercolor – for both, but I watercolored one with Stampin’ Write markers and colored the other with Blendabilities.
I love having options for coloring. The Blendabilities (on the left) are very vibrant and have a printed look. But the watercolored image on the right is very soft and has a, well, watercolored
look. So it’s nice to have different ways to color, depending on my mood.
The watercolored image uses Tangerine Tango, Calypso Coral, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry markers on watercolor paper. I sponged a little Soft Sky around the flowers and backed the image with some Watercolor Wonder designer series paper. The Blendabilities I used were the Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler packs. Well – they’re not called “Blendabilities” for nothin’, right? I blended and blended. It was very therapeutic. Not that I needed therapy.
Remember that the Occasions catalog products that aren’t carried over to the new catalog will only be available through June 1. The Watercolor Wonder paper and Happy Watercolor sets are not carrying over, so be sure to order them soon!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
