LIVE THE LIFE

Stampin' Up!, Gorgeous Grunge, Papillon PotpourriThis was such a fun card to make!  I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to create the splattered rainbow (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Pacific Point and Elegant Eggplant).  Simply ink the stamp, then spritz with water and stamp.  This is much easier than trying to acheive a perfect splatter without a stamp. My first sample was on Shimmery White card stock, but I didn’t have enough for everyone at the workshop, so we used the Whisper White instead (shown in the photo).  I think it worked fine.

To make the movable butterfly (from Papillon Potpourri stamp set, punched with the elegant butterfly punch), I used a 1″ circle punch to cut the pull tab and the slider (under the punched pansy), and the word window punch to create the track.  If you make a movable card like this one, be sure to use dimensionals to secure your top layer so the slider will actually slide.

I thought it needed just a little bling, so I added some gold sequins to the card and a little Dazzling Details on the butterfly.  And I thought the sentiment from Really Good Greetings worked perfectly with this.

I was going to use this as a birthday card, but one of the ladies today said, “This would be perfect for a graduation.”  She’s a genius.  Now, who do I know who’s graduating?

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.  Have a wonderful day!
