Woodgrain Flowers

Woodgrain, Occasions, Stampin' Up!I started out to create a whole different card today.  I wanted to use the Hardwood set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog to do a “whitewash” effect.  I was going to stamp in Whisper White ink and white emboss.  But I realized I bought the Woodgrain stamp instead.  Oops!  So I stamped in Whisper White, embossed in clear powder, then sponged Early Espresso over the whole layer.  Not quite what I wanted, but it’s ok.

I punched a ton of Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Cantaloupe Crisp flowers and scallops using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, and die cut some Little Leaves from Pistachio Pudding.  After gluing them on the card, I added a dot of Dazzling Details to each.  After adding a tag using the Banner Greetings set and tying a little twine around the card, I was finished.  Easy!

I got the idea for the colors from the Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper – Sweet Sorbet.  I added it to my order last week so I could use it in the You+Us+March 26 event.  I just watched the first live broadcast in North America.  What fun!  If you get a chance, you can still watch.  There are two more broadcasts tonight – at 9:30 p.m. ET and 1 a.m. ET March 27.  But, if you don’t want to stay up all night, here is the recorded North American session from 7:30.
