Everything in me wanted to grab some flower stamps today. It’s beautiful outside – and around 60 degrees. It’s hard to believe last week this time everything was covered in snow and it was below freezing.
I wanted to do something different, though, and I was inspired by my friend Susan Horr. She always makes the most beautiful cards, and she’s been doing a lot with borders and banners – so I decided to take some of her ideas and copy them a little.
I stamped the triangles for the border with a few of the Geometrical set triangle stamps, then punched them with the new triangle punch. Susan’s borders are much straighter! I was rushing, so some of my triangles are a little off. (You can order the “Geometrical Bundle” wood or clear mount stamps and the punch and receive a 15% discount!)
The “love you” and “forever” stamps are from the Fabulous Phrases set. I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the words where I wanted them on the Essentials Wooden Elements. I stamped in Versamark, then embossed them with Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise embossing powder.
When I got my Leadership make & take packet, I fell in love with the Kaleidoscope designer series paper. It’s pretty in the Occasions catalog, but it’s even cuter in person. I thought the triangles on this sheet would work well with my design.
This card was way out of my comfort zone. Only one color – Bermuda Bay – is one I typically reach for. Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry are not colors I gravitate to, but I love them on this card. It’s warm and summery, and a little tropical!
Hope you have a beautiful day! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.
