One of my favorite things about the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog is the Watercolor Wonder suite. Oh, my! So many fun images that you can watercolor. (And there’s a brand new watercolor product coming soon! Can you say, “alcohol markers in Stampin’ Up! colors?”)
I used the poppy image from Happy Watercolor for this card, and it just seemed a little flat. So I stamped another one, cut out some leaves and popped them up on stampin’ dimensionals. Better.
To watercolor this image, I used our Many Marvelous Markers. Pretend that’s Real Red on the poppy. (It’s actually retired Poppy Parade, because that’s my all-time favorite bright red. I’m hoping it comes back, so I’m hoarding all my ink and card stock.) The mat under the flower, though, is Real Red, and I used Soft Sky designer series paper and card stock for the bottom layers. I also stamped and embossed the flower image on watercolor paper. Markers blend so much better with the aqua painters when stamped on watercolor paper. And I love that Whisper White organza ribbon. It’s so elegant and pretty.
If you haven’t seen the Occasions catalog, you can view it here. If you’d like a hard copy, please leave me a message and I’ll send one out.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
