Coast Cabana Christmas

Carry over stamps, Stampin' Up!, Christmas cardsI love the new Stampin’ Up! “In Color” Coastal Cabana.  It’s just such a fresh, bright color, and it’s so versatile.

My dear friend Liz created this card as our Demonstrator Team Meeting make & take.  I loved it!  It uses several stamps that are carried over from last year’s Holiday catalog (you can see them here).

I liked this card so much, that I decided to do something similar for our club this week.  My design is a little less involved than the team one.  We do three projects at club, and I didn’t want to overwhelm everyone too much.

Best of Snow, Lovely as a Tree, Stampin' Up!, Christmas cardsI gave options – which is always risky!  Stampers could choose between the hedgehogs from Best of Snow or the Lovely as a Tree set and the Joyful Christmas sentiment (Joyful Christmas is on sale through Dec 2!).  Of course, they wanted both, so they stamped hedgies, then masked them and added the trees behind them.  It was cute, but, of course, I didn’t get a photo, so you’ll have to use your imagination.

I stamped the background snowflakes (from Best of Snow) with the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad, then used heat & stick powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to add a little glitz.  I love the Circles Collection framelits, and, of course, I used Liz’s idea to cut the circle from the center of the hidden Very Vanilla layer before layering.  Smart, right??  I finished it off with a little knot of Smoky Slate Chevron ribbon.

I’m almost finished making Christmas cards – and I have lots left over from past years when I forgot to send them out.  So I’m ready to enjoy Thanksgiving!

Have a wonderful day – and thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.

  1. So, maybe you could start addressing those cards you have left over from last year, and then try mailing them. Just a thought.
