Happily Ever After

Rachel & JonYesterday, our older son Jonathan wed his best friend Rachel.  I’m so happy for them, and it was such a beautiful wedding.  It was a gorgeous fall day – sunny and mild.  It got a tad chilly later in the afternoon when the wind picked up a bit, but it was still lovely.

I’m so excited to have a daughter now, and we all love Rachel very much.  She’s as beautiful inside as out – and she was a very beautiful bride.

You can’t see it really well, but Rachel made her bouquet – and her headpiece, as well as the bouquet for the maid of honor (her sister Katie), flowers for the men, the flower girls’ baskets and the pillow for the ring bearer.  Three of their dogs (Walter, Hoss and Toby) were in the wedding and were very sociable and well-behaved.  Here are some other pictures.Stephee

This is Wesley’s Stephanie who was everyone’s “strong right arm.”  She did everything from helping with flowers, decorating, baking, organizing, helping clean up and managing kids and dogs.  I don’t think we could have pulled this off without her.  She’s holding Katie’s bouquet.

My GuysI think the only time I cried – other than when I saw Rachel – was when my three guys all came out together.  Mike performed the wedding and Wesley was the best man.  Hoss, of course, has been Jon’s friend and confidante for years, so it was only fitting that he also stand up with him.  And that’s Walter in the foreground with me (the teal dress you can almost see in the picture!).  They’re just all so handsome – and I’m so proud of the men ourThe Bouquet sons have become.

Here’s a close-up of the maid of honor’s bouquet.  Many of the flowers in the bouquets and decorations were created from Stampin’ Up! designer series paper, but the larger ones in the bouquets were made from old sewing patterns.  Is my new daughter so clever or what?

The final picture is of Jon and his friend Chris Jackson.  Chris was Jon’s very best friend throughout high school.  Chris spent almost every weekend at our house and was just like one of my kids.  I was so happy to see him.  As they’ve grown older and gone out on their own, I don’t see “my kids” as much as I’d like, so I had to get a picture of Chris and Jon together.  I didn’t realize how much they looked alike until I saw the picture.  Chris & Jon

So that’s what I’ve been up to the past few days.  I have a great card to show you tomorrow.  We made it at our team meeting last Thursday.  Sandy Moriarty was in charge of the “Make & Take” this month, and she always brings a “WOW!” project.  Just wait till you see it.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a wonderful day filled with love and all good things.
