Birthday Wishes

Birthday, Stampin' Up!, rosesToday was our monthly Technique Class, and I was going to post the card we made.  But I received cards and gifts today that were so much nicer, I’m posting those instead.

Mom brought me these gorgeous roses from their garden.  Aren’t they gorgeous?  My parents have the most spectacular roses at their house.

I didn’t realize until she was leaving and I was packing my things up that Mom decorated the “vase.”  Birthday, glitter, DIYIsn’t this amazing?

She painted an empty “coffee bottle” with liquid glue, then sprinkled glitter over it.  When she was finished, she rolled it in the excess glitter to finish it off.  It looks amazing in person – and now I have another project for Technique Class!  Thanks, Mom!  I give her a hard time sometimes in class (and I hope everyone knows I’m kidding), but that woman is so special to me.  She and Dad gave me life and love and guided me into who I am today (and I think that’s a good thing!  Most days, anyway.).  Mom has been an amazing role model as a wife, a mom, a business woman – and so many other things.  I think she’s done all the Proverbs 31 woman things at one time or other – and she’s done them well.

So – on to the other goodies.  And please note that I did not create any of the following cards!  The only reason my watermark is on them is so they’ll have the Stampin’ Up! copyright.

Here’s a card from Liz Saum.  She is so talented and creative, and she’s responsible for most of our techniques at class lately.  I’m already planning next month with an idea she gave me today, and another for November.  Every stamper needs a friend like Liz!  Here’s the card she gave me (and there was a Starbucks gift card inside.  Woooot!)Birthday, Stampin' Up!  I love the softness of this card.  The subtle images just make the sentiment pop.  It’s just stunning, I think.

The next card is from Sandy Moriarty, my dear friend and one of my first downline.   Sandy is a Supervisor with Stampin’ Up! – and she’s another very talented artist.  I always look forward to seeing what she’s working on!

Birthday, Sandy Moriarty, Stampin' Up!

Isn’t this pretty?  I love the little touches of glitter, the doily peeking out from behind the Daffodil Delight layer and, of course, the embossing.

After class, I stayed at the office to do some work, and when Mike got there, he brought the mail with him.  He said, “I have birthday cards!”  Of course, I always look for the 5-3/4″ x 4-1/2″ envelopes first – and there was one from New York.  I knew before I opened it (or looked at the return address) that it was from my BFF Susan Horr.  Susan and I met online about a year or so ago, and then started e-mailing.  From there, we got to be good friends and finally met in Orlando at Leadership last January.  We got together again at Stampin’ Up! Convention in July.  You’d think we have known each other forever.  I was so sad when we said goodbye in the hall at the end of convention, and I can’t wait to see her in Texas in January.

Susan creates the most beautiful cards.  They’re always clean and pretty but never simple.  Even her simple cards are just so classy.  Here’s what was inside the envelope –

Birthdays, Stampin' Up!, Susan HorrIt’s a “flip flop” card using the new card frame thinlits.  Gorgeous!  She used my absolute favorite color (Blushing Bride).  Of course, the inside has even more cute decorations – hearts and designer paper – and one of my favorite stamp sets, Yippee Skippee.

Susan even decorated the envelope with the envelope framelits and some hearts.  Gorgeous!  It’s amazing how much those little touches add to a card.

So thanks, everyone, for making this birthday so special!! (And it’s not even here yet!)  I feel very loved.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy – and have a happy day!
