This was a color challenge for a Facebook group I’m a member of. The colors for the challenge are Soft Suede, Island Indigo and Strawberry Slush. I like the combination, and I wanted to do a vintage card to prove to myself that you can use Strawberry Slush with vintage. I’m not sure I’m going to post it, though. I’m thinking Strawberry Slush might not have been the best choice for the “splatters,” because it makes it look like the life I’m imagining is that of an ax murderer. (Thanks, Pam Morgan, for the image you planted in my head at Stampin’ Up! Convention this year.)
I stamped the Dictionary background on Very Vanilla designer series paper with Soft Suede ink. Then I added Soft Suede and Strawberry Slush splatters (using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set). Finally, I stamped the Swallowtail image with versamark and Island Indigo and embossed it with clear powder before sponging and spritzing with more Soft Suede.
The sentiment is from Really Good Greetings, and I added a little crochet trim, In Color Boutique Details and Vintage Trinkets. I’ll let you know if I’m brave enough to post it!
My mom brought some peaches and plums over today. YUM! The plums are perfect -ripe, but not overly so, so they’re still firm. And peaches are my very favorite fruit. When I was about 10 years old, there were crates and crates of them stacked by the garage at my grandparents’ home one day when I was visiting. (My family grew apples and peaches.) I absolutely stuffed myself with peaches – and ended up with horrible hives the next day. You’d think that would make me hate them, but – nope. I have to force myself not to eat all of them whenever we have them in the house.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy – and have a wonderful day!
This card goes well with a certain bunny card!

I am so GLAD you enjoyed them. We canned and/or froze tomatoes, peaches and green beans today. Resting now! haha. BTW – I really like the card. It is even prettier “live”.

Thanks, everyone! I never thought about the splatters until Pam Morgan said they looked like evidence splatters at convention. Still, I love this set! And I used Swallowtail because I was missing Susan, and I know how much she loves that stamp.
