Before and After

Whenever I have a card that I’m not happy with, I show it to Rachel and ask, “How can I fix this?”  She’s amazing!  Here’s a “Patterned Resist” card I made, but I just didn’t like it.Swallowtail, emboss resist

I embossed the Swallowtail with clear powder, then sponged Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz and Garden Green around the image.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Soft Sky and added it under a Soft Sky patterned paper flower.

Rachel suggested that I nix the darker Garden Green ink and stamp the sentiment in a darker ink.  The Garden Green kind of distracts the eye.

These were simple changes, but what a difference it made!

Swallowtail, emboss resistIt’s much softer, and the sentiment (from Banner Greetings) really pops in Island Indigo ink.  I need to add just a bit more ink around the center of the butterfly, but all in all, I like it much better.

Rachel is think about starting a blog – “Rachel Says…”  If you want, you can send her cards (either real or digital) and she’ll give you ideas to give the card a different look.

Leave me a message if you’re interested and I’ll pass the info on to Rachel.  I’ll also post a link when she gets her blog up and running.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy – and have a wonderful day!

I like the changes Rachel suggested. I think it would be fun to have a “Rachel says” web site, even though I don’t know Rachel!

I talk about her so much, I forget others don’t know who she is!! Rachel will be my daughter-in-law in October!!! She was an art major and has taught art classes, and she has wonderful ideas about how to make people say, “Wow!”
