This is Walter, our adopted-adopted dog. He’s the one Rachel adopted, but he kept picking fights with the bigger dogs. So he’s with us now. It’s hard to get a good picture, because he’s rarely still unless he’s sleeping.
If you know me at all, you know that I’m just not a morning person. So, thanks to technology, I can grab a cup of coffee and my tablet or iPhone, slip back into bed, and check all my messages and e-mails before I have to face the day.
This morning I was checking mail and Walter kept barking. Not incessantly, just a, “hey! I’m out here!” bark. He had been fed, watered, and, um, de-watered, so I had no idea what he might need. And then it hit me. Hoss – our 170 pound Rottweiler, was stretched out in the hall and Walter couldn’t get past him to be with me. Walter hates being alone; he’s a real social bug. So – while I was out here keeping him company, I figured I’d blog early, since I missed yesterday.
This uses a stamp set from the 2013 annual catalog – “Sketched Birthday.” I stamped and embossed the image on vellum card stock, then colored the back with markers. If you attach the vellum to Whisper White card stock, the image really pops!
I used several new colors for this card – Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe, new In Colors for 2013-2015, and Smoky Slate, a new neutral. I love our new color palette. When you look at the colors together, they look so fresh.
I don’t usually start celebrating my birthday until August (my birthday is in early September), but I’m getting a huge surprise today. I just checked the delivery information for my order from the new catalog, and it’s arriving two days early! I should have a big box of new toys to play with business supplies this afternoon!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! Have a wonderful day.
