Stamp, Mask, Sponge, Glitter

Technique challenge, Splitcoaststampers, Everything Eleanor, Stampin' Up!This was a technique challenge this week on splitcoast stampers dot com, and since I needed another technique for this week, I thought I’d use it for our class Thursday.

It’s really fun.  I call it “Stamp, Mask, Sponge, Glitter,” and I think that’s what the challenge creator called it, too.  That’s probably where I got the name.  (Ya think??)

I stamped the flowers from Everything Eleanor in Stazon, then stamped the swirl in Wild Wasabi.  I masked the flowers and sponged the card layer with So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and More Mustard ink.  To add color to the flowers, I added a few drops of Rose Red ink refill to a bottle of Dazzling Details and painted it on. It’s really glittery in person, but not so much in the photo. The “happy birthday” banner is from the Itty Bitty Banners set (which I got free during Sale-a-bration, by the way!) that I die cut with the Bitty Banners framelits.

This card needs a butterfly, I think.  And speaking of butterflies…(How’s that for a segue?)  The April “Best of” set has been released.  It’s Best of Butterflies, and, again, some of my favorite images are in the set.

Best of Butterflies, 25th Anniversary, Stampin' up!

Just like the other “Best of” sets, this set is $14.95 and will be available through March 31, 2014.  Be sure to save the “25” sticker that will be on the sheet with the stamp labels.  There’s a collector’s card with the set, so you can send it in for select a free $14.95 (or less) set after you purchase 6 Best of sets.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy – and have a wonderful day!
