Doesn’t this just remind you of a carnival at sunset? I got the idea from a Leadership swap from Vicki Edwards, a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Cave City, Kentucky. She had watercolored behind the Ferris wheel on her card in gorgeous, bold colors. I decided to change it to a more muted sunset, and “vintage it up” a little bit with some ripping, sponging and distressing.
I used the “Feeling Sentimental” sale-a-bration set for the Ferris wheel, and the tickets are from the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog set, “You’re Amazing.” The silver basics designer buttons from the spring catalog are so cute; you have to try them! All the Leadership attendees got a pack of them last month, and they really add that extra something.
To create the sunset, I used an aqua painter to watercolor Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Summer Starfruit, Island Indigo and Perfect Plum ink on Very Vanilla card stock, then sponged the edges with Soft Suede. And, finally, another secret to great vintage projects – the Stampin’ Distress Tool from the spring catalog. You can distress edges in a snap with this tool.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! I have a fun CASE of one of my friend Susan’s projects to show you tomorrow, and then we have another blog hop for you beginning Thursday night. Be sure to check in and see some fabulous spring projects.
Have a great day!

Buffy love your card with the nostalgic farris wheel. You sky looks fabulous… carnival closing down feeling. I also like the rough edges of the focal point pieces… I JUST finally bought the distress tool instead of using my scissors. Great colors too. hugs.
