…and through the woods to Grandmother’s house we go! Ok – we didn’t have to cross a river or drive through woods. But this was my grandparents’ house. My aunt lives there now, and she always has a Christmas Eve lunch for the family. Now that most of the kids are older and working, and my older brother’s family is in the Pittsburgh area, the crowd is kind of small. But it’s a lot of fun. There’s something about going “home” that makes the holidays special for me.
I didn’t realize we were supposed to have snow today. This is what it was like when we got to Aunt Ruth’s. By the time we left, the ground was covered with about 1-2″ of snow. So it looks like we’ll have a White Christmas after all.
Tomorrow we’ll all go to Dad’s & Mom’s for an early dinner so Jon & Rachel can head to her dad’s later in the afternoon. I know as the boys get older and have “their own lives,” that there will be times we won’t all be together for the holidays, but it’s nice that they’re willing to work things out so we can spend as much time together as possible now.
I had a cute gift idea from my mom, but I can’t find the picture. I took it with Mike’s camera, and it seems to have disappeared. Mom made a place mat with our Stampin’ Up! designer fabric, then added two jars of homemade jelly in a handmade box covered with Stampin’ Up! designer series paper that coordinated with the place mat. It was so cute – and such a wonderful idea. I’ll keep looking…
Whether it’s white or green, have a wonderful Christmas, and thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy!
