Here’s the ornament that goes with yesterday’s card. The colors are a little different, though. I decided to use Elegant Eggplant and Cherry Cobbler for the ornament, with a little Whisper White and silver embossing powder. It’s another one that’s inspired by the cover of the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog, and uses the Sizzix Holiday Ornaments and Floral Frames framelits. I love how the Big Shot framelits coordinate with the stamps!
For this one, I created the base by stamping, embossing and layering 5 flat ornaments, then layering the accordion ornaments on top. I used 4 stamped and cut out images for each “petal” of the ornament – so there are 20 Cherry Cobbler and 20 Elegant Eggplant. (Yeah. It’s a lot of work!) If you can stamp them on both sides, or if you use designer paper, you can get away with using only 2 per petal. That’s what my friend Sandie did, and it looked lovely!

The top two layers are a Daydream Medallions stamp and a Delicate Doilies stamp, with a vintage faceted button and a rhinestone on the very top. I used the Floral Frames framelits to cut those out. I folded the Cherry Cobbler tulle in half so it would be a little more full, then ran a stitch along the folded edge so I could gather it. Then I hot-glued it to the back of the ornament.
For those not ready for Christmas yet, here’s a card inspired by my friend Kath Ricks. She used this set with a shaving cream background. I didn’t want to do shaving cream, so I just scribbled on the biggest block with Rich Razzleberry, Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit markers, then spritzed with water and smooshed it on Whisper White card stock. I love the way the colors worked out! (Thanks, Kath!!)
