Fall-i-days Thanksgiving Blog Hop

It’s time for another “Fall-i-Days” blog hop!  You may have gotten here from Kath Ricks’s blog.  Isn’t she amazing?  Kath’s work always blows me away.  She’s so talented.  If you’re just starting the hop, though, you can go forward through all the stops or use back buttons to hop backwards.  Or you can use the home button to go to the home page and see all the stops.

My first project is a Veterans’ Day card.  My uncle sends an e-mail every year on Veterans’ Day and Memorial Day with names and pictures of family members who have served in the military, and this card is dedicated to them and to all the men and women who have sacrificed so much to keep our country safe and free.

Affection Collection, Just Believe, Stampin' Up!

I used my friend Susan Horr’s design again, and the Affection Collection stamp set from the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday catalog, with Real Red, Midnight Muse and Whisper White.  For the Thank You banner (cut with a Bitty Banner framelit), I inked the stamp in Real Red, then thumped it with a Midnight Muse marker to make it Red, White & Blue.  I love the silver glimmer paper!

At our craft day last week, my friend Liz brought some decorations she had made, so she is the inspiration behind the next project.

Punch art, scallop circle, boho blossoms, circles, Stampin' Up

Wouldn’t these be cute at each place setting on Thanksgiving?  I meant to mix up the colors in the turkey feathers, but forgot.  Rachel says it kind of looks like a color wheel.  (I have ROY G, but no BV.)  I used circle and scallop circle punches for most of it.  I used the Boho Blossoms punch for the beak and feet.  I made a little stand for the back so he’ll sit up on his own and not fall over into the gravy or dressing and get eaten by accident.

Napkin Ring, Autumn Accents, Holiday catalog, Stampin' Up!, Champagne glimmer paper

I made a napkin ring using leftover leaves from another project. I die cut them with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die (from Sizzix for Stampin’ Up!®), then crumpled them and inked them a little. Some were die cut from Champagne glimmer paper, and I used Heat & Stick powder and glitter on   one.  I used a glue gun to glue all the leaves to a glimmer paper ring.

And last – a Thanksgiving card.  This also uses the Autumn Accents Bigz die, as well as the Comfort Cafe’ designer series paper, Summer Starfruit stitched satin ribbon and the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark stamp pad.

Again, I die cut the leaves, then crumpled them and added ink. I stamped the “Happy Thanksgiving” message in versamark, dumped on black powder, then remembered I had left my heat tool and my spare at the office.  Did you know the toaster really does heat embossing powder in a pinch?  Just use tweezers so you don’t burn your fingers.  And don’t drop the paper into the toaster!  Keep a firm grip.

That’s all for me!  Your next stop is Marsha

Reed, so prepare to be impressed!  You can use the buttons to go forward to Marsha’s blog, back to Kath’s or to the hop home page.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day.

Too funny, using the toaster for heat embossing – good to know it will work in a pinch! These are all great, but I really love the Veteran’s Day card – such a great way to “repurpose” that stamp set!

I love your projects! I am having a small Thanksgiving this year and will have to make that turkey. Thanks for the tips about the toaster. When my Club meets and the embossing line gets backed up, I ‘ll have them use mine!

Thanks Buffy for sharing so many wonderful Fall-i-Day Ideas. You covered my two favorite Fall holidays that I tend to focus on. Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. Love the table decor ideas. Wonderful that your Uncle keeps the family service and family members memories alive. Hugs and thanks for sharing the hop!
