I had so much fun at craft day today. Everyone “does their own thing,” and we get to have show & tell after. Sandie Poore had made some gorgeous ornaments similar to the one on the Holiday catalog. Don’t tell Stampin’ Up!®, but Sandie’s is so much prettier! (Ok, go ahead and tell SU! I think they would be proud.) Sandie’s was more blue – and I love blue for Christmas. I wish Mom could have been there today; she would have loved it. I did get a photo on my phone, though. I’m gong to try to make one similar.
My other Sandy (Moriarty) was creating kits to make with one of her customers. She was doing some gorgeous things with the French Foliage stamp set. I didn’t buy it, because I was sure if I did, it would retire. But it hasn’t, and it’s gorgeous. I have two leaf sets already, but I have to have this. And demonstrators get an extra 15% discount of one item in their birthday month, so I may add it to my next order. For today, though, Sandy let me borrow it.
This card even smells good! I wanted to do an “emboss resist” with the leaves, but didn’t have any clear embossing powder with me except for the Sugar & Spice scented powder. Hey – you use what you have, right!
This was inspired by Chris Nelson’s top. It was just lovely. (I miss Janet! Her wardrobe always gave me inspiration. Of course, I miss her for more than just her wardrobe.) I embossed the leaves, then sponged lots of fall colors (More Mustard, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede) over the leaves. Finally, I stamped the splatter with Soft Suede. The basket of veggies and the sentiment are from Harvest Blessings. This was supposed to be for our blog hop next week, but it was so pretty, I had to share now.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.
