Tea with Friends

Tea with Aretha!I have the most amazing friends.  I received the gorgeous invitation to tea last week (back, left in the photo) from my friend Aretha. It was so elegant, and everything was delicious.

As lovely as the invitation was, it just kept getting better.  She had a place card (die cut) and menu at each table, and there were three courses.

Here’s the scene that greeting us when we arrived.

The table was beautiful.  We found out the vase for the flowers once held a dozen roses – given to Aretha by her husband on their first date.

The first course was Savories, served with a green tea.  She had delicious little sandwiches, deviled eggs and chicken salad phyllo cups.

The second course was country scones and cranberry bread. It looks like we had already hit this tray pretty hard! The tea was Ginger Peach (Yum!).

And the final course was sweets – cheese cake, brownie bites, lemon squares and Raspberry & Cream Cafe’ bites with a Lady Gray tea.  *sigh* It was heavenly.

So thanks, Aretha, for a beautiful afternoon with such gracious company!

I was honored and delighted to be there……….and you did a fabulous job of describing it, Buffy. Aretha is such a gracious hostess and I enjoyed every minute with her and all the lovely guests who came. It was a live re-enactment of a kinder, gentler time, which we can only read about these days! Thanks to Aretha for a time of reflection and joy!

What fun! Sounds like it was wonderful. Love the yummy looking delicacies she served. Her paper designs are beautiful and it really does sound like she took you back to a time when ladies enjoyed being together for tea and friendship. Thanks, Buffy, for describing a beautiful afternoon — I can almost taste those sweets and the Ginger Peach tea, which is one of my favorites.
