Here’s another sketch challenge from our Stampin’ Up!® forum. This sketch was created by Amanda Corbet, and it was lots of fun. I wanted to use the Word Play stamp set from the Stampin’ Up!® annual catalog, since that one hasn’t seen a whole lot of ink. And, of course, I had to use my new Lacy Brocade embossing folder with the Delicate Doilies set. I’m so happy that Stampin’ Up!® decided to partner with Sizzix four years ago. What did I ever do without my Big Shot?
I decided to do an emboss resist technique with this one. I stamped and embossed the doilies, then spritzed them with a mixture of Calypso Coral, Frost White shimmer paint and alcohol. For the other panel, I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede, then stamped Clockworks images around the sentiment in Crumb Cake. The watch case is gold embossed, and the rest is stamped in Soft Suede. I clear embossed the face of the watch so it would look more like glass.
I think I may make a card similar to this one for an anniversary card, but put a wedding picture where the watch is. Mom just made one similar to that, and she attached the photo of the couple to a magnet so they could keep it. Clever!!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
